Today I'm grateful for...

I've thought about starting a blog for over a year now, but every time I've thought about starting a post I've gotten intimidated by the thought that I would need to write the perfect post each time. Well, that's never going to happen, so I'm biting the bullet and starting to blog with one simple thought in mind - that this is going to be a place where I can reflect on something that I'm particularly grateful for on a certain day. Life seems to move at a million miles/hour here in the city and I find it so easy to get caught up in the hustle-bustle, that I miss the blessings (both big and small) that God's providing each day. I'm hoping that this forum will be an encouragement and reminder to myself and any readers of His goodness.

This weekend I'm particularly grateful for community and a fun girls' brunch at a friends' apartment on Saturday morning. It's so nice to have friends who want to know your heart and walk through life together. Plus, mimosas and chocolate, strawberry paninis aren't a bad plus either :-) I'm grateful for silly girl talk, yummy food, cozy NYC apartments and good friends.

Our friends truly have become our family up here, when our own families seem far away. We love our families so very much and always want them to be a priority no matter what geographic distance separates us during certain life phases!

Here's a pic of my family down in Florida last weekend celebrating my Grandad's 86th birthday! Such a special reunion weekend! Weekends like that are such sweet reminders of the importance of love and family.
